Fake, Reproduction and Fantasy Plates
The North Carolina license plates in this section are those seen on the internet and are shown in two groups. 1) Fake and reproduction plates are those made to look like older original NC plates mainly for Year of Manufacture (YOM) use. 2) "Fantasy plates" is a term I have came up with that relate specifically to license plates where either the actual plate or the image/picture has been altered. Many of these plates will be from eBay whose policy towards license plates require them to be 3 years or older, but will have photoshopped or covered validation stickers and/or dates.
